Exercise Boosts Brainpower


Not only does exercise improve your body, it helps your mental function, says certified trainer David Atkinson.
"Exercise increases energy levels and increases serotonin in the brain, which leads to improved mental clarity," says Atkinson, director of program development for Cooper Ventures, a division of the Cooper Aerobics Center in Dallas.
All that makes for a more productive day.
"It is clear that those who are active and who exercise are much more productive at work," says Todd A. Astorino, assistant professor of kinesiology at California State University-San Marcos.
Improved productivity not only makes you a better worker, it makes things better for everyone in the workplace. Companies with less wasted work hours and less sick time end up with lower health care costs -- and an improved bottom line, Astorino says.

Exercise Gives You Energy


You might be surprised at how, say, popping in a workout tape for 30 minutes in the morning can change your whole day. When endorphins are released into your bloodstream during exercise, says Astorino, "you feel much more energized the rest of the day."
And when you improve your strength and stamina, it's easier to accomplish everyday tasks like carrying groceries and climbing stairs. This also helps you feel more energetic over the course of the day.
A common excuse among Atkinson's clients is that they're too tired to exercise, he says. While exercise may make you feel more tired at first, he says, that won't last long.
The physical tiredness you feel after working out isn't the same as everyday fatigue, he says. Besides, once your body adjusts to exercise, you'll have more energy than ever.

Movement Melts Away Stress


As much as it may stress you out just to think about exercising, once you actually start working out, you'll experience less stress in every part of your life.
"Exercise produces a relaxation response that serves as a positive distraction," says Cedric Bryant, chief exercise physiologist for the American Council on Exercise. He says it also helps elevate your mood and keep depression at bay.
You're not the only person who will benefit from more happiness and less stress in your life. When you're less stressed, you're less irritable, Atkinson says -- and that could improve relationships with your partner, kids, and co-workers.

  • Limit meat intake to once every day. Prefer to eat poultry and fish over other meat items.
  • Limit the intake of fried foods which are rich in fat. Instead, broil or bake your food.
  • Reduce the consumption of monosodium glutamate (MSG) and salt.
  • Eat plenty of fiber-rich foods which help bowel movements and prevent constipation.
  • Do not consume more than four eggs a week as these are high in cholesterol.
  • Limit intake of desserts and similar high-calorie items which are low in nutrition.
  • Drink alcohol in moderation or avoid it altogether.
  • Eat enough portions from all major good groups to ensure your diet is rich in nutrition.
  • Do at least 30 minutes of moderate physical activity every day to stay in tip-top shape and prevent obesity.

What is Obesity?

Obesity is a growing global health problem, which has been increasingly jeopardizing peoples' life of all ages. According to doctors obesity is defined when someone is overweight and has too much body fat. Obesity has been globally increased due to he fact that people's lifestyle has been changing due to manufactures. Technology is a reason where people started to rely on quick cooked and served fast food, which normally include a high among of fat, sugar, salt and other preservatives. Transport is a cause of obesity. People are driving vehicle and ridden motorcycles instead of walking short distances. People are spending hours in front of the T.V. and computers to watch live concerts and movies instead of walking to the theater. Kids are doing the same instead of playing and running in playgrounds. The lack of movements and activities which technology have offered has lead human beings to spend more hours getting things done while sitting at home or in the office.



How do people become obese?


Nowadays, It's very obvious that the number of obese people is increasing specially among the young generation. Despite what technology, education and health institutes can offer us to fight obesity and live a healthy life the number of obese people is still a threatening figure.
People usually avoid attending sport activities and gathering due to laziness and lack of potential which is caused by obesity. Research and studies have shown and proven that healthy minds are always associated with healthy bodies. People and kids are proven to be more productive and score high grades in school due to the fitness they enjoy.

Obesity is an important risk factor for osteoarthritis in most joints, especially
at the knee joint (the most important site for osteoarthritis). Obesity confers a
nine times increased risk in knee joint osteoarthritis in women. Osteoarthritis
risk is also linked to obesity for other joints. A recent study indicated that
obesity is a strong determinant of thumb base osteoarthritis in both sexes.
Data suggest that metabolic and mechanical factors mediate the effects of
obesity on joints.
